Harrah's National Emergency Grant

More than 1,300 people were affected by a layoff when Harrah’s Tunica permanently closed in June, 2014.  South Delta received a National Emergency Grant to assist with assessments, training, re-training and supportive services to those affected by the layoff to help them get back to work.  The project is on-going.  South Delta contracted with MDES, Northwest MS Community College and Coahoma Community College to provide needed services. We serve 15 counties in Mississippi as well as participants from Tennessee and Arkansas.

The Mission:

The mission of the program is to enable participants to have the training and supportive services necessary to return to work as quickly as possible.
